Hi, my name is Jamiah, and I’m from Macon, Georgia.
I’m currently a student at Mercer University, right here in my hometown.
My grandfather passed away on May 24, 2022 and since that time, I’ve gone with my grandmother to visit my grandpa’s and to change out his flowers. One of my favorite experiences is when strangers stop to admire our decoration and tell us how much we’ve inspired them.
I myself, also always loved going through the cemetery seeing all the beautiful flower arrangements people leave for their loved ones alone the way. But this past Memorial Day, I noticed a grave that still had a Christmas arrangement on it! And the more I looked, the more I started noticing flower arrangements that were that were either old, faded, or out of season. And then I started to notice so many others that didn’t have arrangements at all displayed on their loved ones resting place. And I thought to myself, maybe some families live far away or just don’t have the time or the ability to visit their loved ones as often as my grandmother and me.
And when I got home and shared the experience I had with my dad. And when we talked about it, we decided to do something meaningful. And when my grandmother, who has years of experience designing beautiful flower arrangements offered to help, it became our mission to provide a service where everyone’s loved one can be celebrated and remembered in a special way.
That’s how Forever Remembered began!
